New Mission Trip Adventures

Well it has been awhile since i have posted to my blog. When I returned from China I became so busy that I did not use this as much. However as some of you may know I am going to the Philippines in August. I am extremely excited for this trip and all the work that God is going to do over there and in me. Over the next few weeks I will be posting updates on the trip and our itinerary so you guys can keep up on what is going on. I also have recently found out that I am going to Indonesia in October. I am amazed at how much God is able to use me in the mission field. I am still trying to raise the funds for the Indonesia trip, but I am not concerned because I know God will provide. If anything please keep our teams upcoming trips in prayer. Thankyou

Coming Home

Well everyone.....im at the Hong Kong airport waiting for my flight and I figured I would leave one last post. The last week has been great. We were in the middle of the second camp when I had to leave, but so far it was going really well. Another great outcome with lots of kids. This camp was in the same area as the last one and we had so many kids wanting to come still that they are going to do a third camp there next week. After that there will be a fourth camp further north. Everyone is looking forward to that. I was working on some more media realted things. I made another movie this time just of the camp. It will be up on youtube soon so ill post the link when its up. There have been a few earthquakes while I was here. Last night there was a 6.0. Im in the middle of a typhoon right now. Most of the flights are cancelled except for mine. Its pretty cool. Wow what an expierence. So many things to be brought out of this trip. Where do I even begin. Well ill start with the biggest thing I noticed.Patience.....something I was really running short on when I left home, but hey I realize it now and well me and the Big Man upstairs are working on it. Im sure going to miss all the new friends and family I made. They are amazing people. Please continue to lift them up. The work that is being done over there takes alot and although nothing is impossible for Him, it is draining when your out there; physically and spiritually. Another thing I have seen is that the time to go Home is soon. Yes back to the states but our real home, Heaven. I could probably write a few pages on what I have realized, but ill spare you pain of reading that all that. Its time to come home though, I miss everyone and I need to get back for school.Thankyou all for your prayers, you all were in mine as well. Hope to see you all soon.

Back from camp for few days

Hey guys,
Well I'm back from the camp for a few days to get supplies for next weeks camp. So far the current camp is going awesome. There was a few roadblocks along the way but everything got worked out. For starters, we were supposed to have a bus to transport thirty to forty volunteers to the camp and well a van to hold three or four people showed up. Somewhere there was a miss communication, but four hours later we got a bus to take all of us down there. Along the way we were told that the apartments we were going to stay in could not be used, but Tim got it worked out and we have to pay more then what was agreed upon. We ended up getting there later then planned and lost one day of training so Sunday was packed with nothing but training. Well you know who got all this really worked out. :) Its so awesome to see Him working right in front of me and making this camp happen. The kids are absolutely loving it and so is our team of volunteers that are there. The first day of the camp was crazy as well. There was a shortage of class rooms, not enough supplies, and more kids showed up then what we had registered. The second day went way better and all of the kinks got figured out. The team has been so flexible and understanding through all this craziness. I'm doing good except I sprained or broke my toe. I was in a good amount of pain yesterday, but today is not as bad. Its just really swollen and black and blue. No big deal though as long as I can still walk. Right now I am rounded up the second set of volunteers for next weeks camp and getting supplies together. I am also working on another video for Tim. They loved the first one and now Tim would like a second one but of the first camp. I'm starting to think I need to find a job in media somewhere. Ha ha...ill just stick with photography. I'm bummed that I can not stay for the second camp, but at the same time I am excited to return home soon. I miss everyone and am looking forward to seeing you all. Love you guys, thank you for everything.

Past Few Days...

So I have not been on here to much because we have been getting busier as it gets closer to the start of the kids camp, which starts Monday. Yesterday I went out and visited the village that we are going to be holding the camp at. While there we took sign ups for the camp and for the first camp we have got over two hundred kids and there is already kids signing up for the second camp. We are hoping that we are going to be able to even do the second camp because on August 8th they are going to be shutting out all outsiders to that area and not allowing anybody to help who does not have special permission. We think this is because of the Olympics starting, but we are hoping that we can get the permissions needed to go in still. As for me I will already be home by then...wow this month is flying by. Today was fun. Me and my buddy Aaron went to get some of the supplies for the camp this morning. It was interesting to see the way they sell things here. Basically it was like a super sized home depot and lowes outdoors and they are competing with each other to offer you the "best price." Once we got what we needed we got out of there and then we spent the rest of the day working in the office until we went had to go deliver a set of books and book shelves and we got lost.....well actually we weren't lost the place just wasn't where it was supposed to be according to the address. Its a long story maybe ill tell it someday. So we were wondering around for almost three hours with several large bags full of books and a metal frame book shelf. The stupid metal cut my hand open and the books weighed a ton. We did circles around the block in a taxi and walked forever. Once we were done we bought junk food from the store and caught a taxi home. And well now here I am...tired and ready for bed. The next week wont really have any updates cause ill be at the camp most of the week but when I get back I will write up a nice long post explaining the whole camp. I hope everyone is well back home and things arnt to bad without me.Ha ha. Jk everyone. But I miss you all and I will be home in 14 days. Seems long in numbers but time is flying.

New Logo Design, Friday, July 18th

So today I updated the logo I made. They liked the first one but i decided to make it more unique to the area we are working in. Oh and today I also finished the video for an overview of what ERC is doing here. Tonight we went to a coffee shop and listened to one of the other volunteers put on a small concert thing. It was cool but I more went for the coffee. I miss my coffee from home. :( Oh and I also went and had pizza...Its really not even close to what pizza is. There is no sauce...but it was nice to have something that was trying to be close to home. Tomorrow is relax and sleep in day so I probably wont be on here much. I think we are going to go out shopping for items for the camp. But you never know what a new day will bring so we'll see. So I can put the new logo design up but the video will have to wait until later.

First Few Days

Hey everyone,

Well I have been in Cheungdu, China since July 9th. God provided me with an amazing opportunity to come over here and serve and even though I was very hesitant and didnt really want to go; I knew what I needed to do to be obedient. So I went, and so far so good. The plane ride was the longest, almost 23 hrs. spent between the flights and layover in Hong Kong. On my flight from the United States I sat next to someone who seemed to not like me from the second I sat down. It wasn't very pleasant. I'm living with several other missionaries who I met on my last trip to China a few months back. They are my new family for the next month and I couldnt ask for a better. Its already been four or five days since I have been here, see I cant even remember, and the time is going fast. The food here is amazing. Its only like four or five US dollars to eat here per day and its great eating. The city I am in is huge. I have had one or two days to wonder around and I spent the whole day in the same area cause there was so much to see. Even work days are fun. We spend the day in the office or running around the city doing errands. We are working with an Emergency Relief Center that is providing support for the families who are in need due to the Earthquakes that occurred just a few months ago. We are currently working on a Summer camp that will be providing kids with an oppurtunity to learn English and receive help with any needs that they might have. The camp starts towards the end of this month and we are trying to get Volunteers to staff the camp and work out the details. Next week several of us might be going out to a small village that needs some help, but I am never sure about where I am going next. Another service ECR is helping the people with is in their needs for schools. They are providing villages with supplies, teaching material, and even buying full libraries for the schools in the area.Wow so much is happening, I can not believe it. Thank you all for your prayers. You are in mine as well. Talk to you all soon. I should be getting some pictures up soon.
